35mm Highlights: Lisbon
Some frames from my honeymoon I never got around to sharing
That’s right folks, I’ve nothing remotely interesting to say or comment on this month, and not enough has happened for a roundup, so I’m back with another set of 35mm film photos, this time from my honeymoon in Lisbon.
All of the below were taken on a mix of my Minolta X300 (a camera I waxed somewhat lyrically about previously) and Nikon Lite Touch, a nice little point & shoot camera that I’m pretty sure was their competitor to the better known Olympus MJU series cameras. I’m glad I picked the Nikon up over the latter set of devices, if only because it was markedly cheaper (at least when I purchased it back in 2022) in comparison to the Olympus MJU lineup.
The film these were shot on is a combination of Kodak Gold 200 and Pro Image 100 (also by Kodak); the latter I find was rather underrated for a number of years, potentially because it’s ‘pro’ licensing meant it was priced a bit higher than Gold and other 200 ISO films (which, by their nature, had a greater exposure latitude). It’s become better appreciated in recent times and deservendly so in my view; it’s sharpness and lack of an overall ‘colour cast’ (i.e - whether the base scans lean cool or warm, green or red) makes it very reliable and a breeze to edit in-post (though in comparison to Kodak’s ‘Portra’ line-up, it seems a little bit more de-saturated).
Anyhow, thanks for reading, and enjoy the frames below!
